Bit Reactor, the studio behind the Star Wars Zero Company project, has initiated the process of rehiring employees who were previously furloughed. CEO Greg Foertsch confirmed on Bluesky that the team is currently returning to work.
The studio previously placed many workers on leave shortly before the game's release, citing unforeseen business challenges. According to reports, approximately 80% of the staff were affected, leaving only a minimal team to manage post-launch technical issues.
While the company has not disclosed specific figures regarding the number of returning employees, sources indicate that over half of the original team is now back on the payroll. Furloughed staff members maintained their employment status during the break but did not receive salary or benefits.
Foertsch described the initial decision to furlough staff as difficult but necessary to navigate external business developments. The studio aims to bring back as many individuals as possible as operations stabilize following the game's launch.
