The upcoming Riftbound set, Radiance, introduces new mechanically complex cards alongside highly collectible variants. Executive producer Chengran Chai noted that the team intentionally aligned the set with Riot Games' broader music initiatives, featuring crossovers like Heartsteel and K/DA cards.
Designers utilized K/DA All Out and Heartsteel 1.0 versions for these cards, as newer iterations were not yet finalized during development. The Heartsteel Overnumbered cards incorporate K-pop-inspired aesthetics, including stickers and Y2K motifs. Notably, the Signature versions of these cards feature character signatures rather than artist autographs.
The set includes rare chase cards such as Alt Art, Overnumbered, and Signature varieties. The rarest pull is the Ultimate Rare Battlefield: Packed Amphitheater, which appears in approximately 0.025% of booster packs, or 1 in 4,000. This represents a significant rarity increase compared to the previous Baron Nasher card.
Radiance Pre-Rifts begin at local game stores on Oct. 16. While the set's complexity may challenge newcomers, it offers increased variety for established players. Booster boxes, packs, and vaults will be available for purchase starting Oct. 23.
