Sony's PlayStation plans to introduce a dedicated Crunchyroll anime hub directly onto the PlayStation 5 home screen. This feature is scheduled to launch next year, according to reports from the Crunchyroll Anime Future Forum.
The announcement was made by PlayStation president and CEO Hideaki Nishino during the inaugural event. The integration aims to provide users with easier access to anime content within the console's existing interface.
Crunchyroll president Rahul Purini highlighted the strategic nature of this partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment. He emphasized that the initiative is designed to meet fans where they are already spending their time.
Beyond the new hub, the collaboration between the two companies continues to expand. Purini noted existing efforts such as Crunchyroll memberships on PlayStation and the development of the Ghost of Tsushima: Legends anime series.
