Nvidia has reportedly halted the manufacturing of its GeForce RTX 5090 graphics cards, a claim that extends to the D variants specifically designed for the Chinese market. This information originated from an alleged factory notice shared by leaker @hongxing2020.
The report suggests that the GB202 chip, which powers the RTX 5090, will be redirected exclusively toward professional and data center hardware. Furthermore, the leak indicates that the RTX 5080 16GB model will be discontinued, leaving the RTX 5080 24GB as the company's flagship consumer graphics card.
Nvidia has not issued an official statement regarding these claims, and the company did not respond to requests for comment. Consequently, these details remain unverified and rely on reports from Tom's Hardware and social media leakers.
Broader industry challenges, including memory supply constraints, are reportedly impacting hardware production. These shortages have allegedly delayed a potential RTX 50 Super refresh and have previously affected other major gaming hardware, including consoles and components from Sony, Valve, and Xbox.
