Hello Games has announced that No Man's Sky will launch on iOS devices, specifically iPhone and iPad, on October 28. Pre-orders for the title open today during the App Store's Indie Games Week, and a free trial version will be available upon release.
According to studio founder Sean Murray, the iOS version features the complete universe and includes over 40 major updates released over the last decade. This includes recent content such as the Voyagers update and the COSMOS update, which allows players to manage space stations.
Similar to the Nintendo Switch version, the game will launch without multiplayer or settlements. Hello Games plans to add these features in the future, contingent on player feedback and the size of the player base.
The port requires less than 5GB of storage and is compatible with iPhone 11 and iPad Air third-generation models or newer. Developers focused on battery and thermal optimization for long play sessions, while also rebuilding touch controls. Players may also use controllers, mouse and keyboard on iPad, or stream the game to a television.
