Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is scheduled for release on 22nd October exclusively for the Switch 2. The title features a total of 12 motion-controlled events, dividing its roster evenly between six returning activities and six new or long-absent events.
Traditional events like table tennis and boxing offer familiar gameplay, with boxing including an offline Island Crown mode featuring 20 ranked opponents. Meanwhile, events like archery and thumb wrestling incorporate localized movements and specific stances using the Joy-Cons.
The previewer highlighted freeform exploratory activities set on Wuhu Island, which include prop plane, power boating, and skateboarding. These events challenge players to accrue points within a time limit while exploring the tropical retreat.
Skateboarding stands out by utilizing mouse controls on a desk surface. Players pull the flat edge of the Joy-Con backward to build speed and perform an upward flick to leap onto grind rails, creating an engaging experience.
