A PC Gamer contributor has modified Grand Theft Auto 5 to incorporate elements from the animated series Rick and Morty. Despite having no prior experience with the show, the creator utilized the Rick, Two Crows, and Morty mod to introduce various thematic assets into the game world.
The modification allows players to transform the character Trevor into Rick or Morty by pressing the F7 key. Gameplay additions include laser-based weaponry, light rings, flying saucers, and specialized poké balls capable of generating black holes. These items function alongside the existing ambient chaos of Los Santos.
The creator noted specific technical difficulties, reporting an inability to effectively pilot the flying saucer vehicle, which only allows for vertical movement and occasional rotation. Furthermore, the modded environment can lead to unpredictable interactions, such as bodyguards becoming trapped against walls due to the physics of the black hole items.
This project is part of an ongoing effort by the author to modify Grand Theft Auto 5 daily. The modded experience often results in unintended consequences, such as notifications regarding the destruction of the American population or the sudden appearance of natural disasters within the game.
