Austrian developer MediaTale released the short horror adventure game Murder Castle for PC via Steam on October 14, 2026. The title is currently priced at 529 yen, with a 15 percent discount available until October 21.
The game is inspired by the historical serial killer H.H. Holmes and the legend of his Murder Castle. Set in 1893 Chicago during the World's Columbian Exposition, the story follows a young woman named Elizabeth who checks into the World's Fair Hotel, unaware of the sinister plans held by Holmes.
Gameplay focuses on Elizabeth's escape, incorporating room-based puzzles alongside stealth mechanics and time-limited challenges. The environment utilizes PSX-style low-polygon graphics to evoke an unsettling atmosphere, featuring motifs based on historical accounts of the castle, such as soundproof rooms, hidden passages, and incinerators.
Murder Castle supports the Japanese language. Interested players can currently access a demo version through the Steam store to preview the experience.
