Elgato has introduced the Wave Go, its inaugural wireless microphone system designed for mobile content creators. The device functions as both a clip-on and handheld microphone, aiming to provide studio-quality audio for phone-based filming.
The system utilizes a USB-C receiver for phone connectivity. In clip-on mode, the 7-gram transmitter attaches magnetically to clothing. For interviews, the transmitter slots into a Smart Handle, which features integrated controls and provides up to 48 hours of total runtime through its internal charging capabilities.
Audio quality is managed by onboard processing, including Auto Gain to prevent clipping and EQ Shift to adjust sound profiles based on the microphone's configuration. Users can further customize settings via the Wave Go app for iOS and Android or integrate the device with Elgato’s Wave Link software on PC and Mac.
The Wave Go is available for purchase now at elgato.com for $99.99. The package includes a carrying case, and the receiver supports pass-through charging to keep connected phones powered during recording sessions.
