Aaeon has announced the Up Xtreme PTL Edge Air, a new fanless mini PC built for industrial and embedded markets. The system can feature up to an Intel Core Ultra X7 358H processor.
For active cooling, the device utilizes Frore’s AirJet ultrasonic membrane technology, enabling it to operate virtually silently at less than 21 dBA. Aaeon states this cooling approach makes the unit 35% thinner and 43% lighter than standard fan-cooled alternatives, while eliminating fan-induced vibration.
The hardware compromises include a 6% rise in power consumption and a restricted operating temperature span ranging from -10°C to 45°C. Connectivity features comprise COM ports, a 40-pin GPIO, and support for up to four simultaneous displays.
Pricing details were omitted from the announcement. Compatible operating systems listed on specification sheets include Windows IoT Enterprise and Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.
