Developer Fancy Games and publisher Secret Mode have announced a new content update for the co-op horror title Escape the Backrooms. Titled the After Party, this expansion is scheduled to launch this December and aims to introduce a celebratory atmosphere to the game.
The upcoming update will feature three brand-new levels for players to explore. Beyond the map additions, the developers are introducing new entity skins, allowing users to customize their characters and potentially disguise themselves as the creatures that inhabit the game's environment.
Prior to the December release, players can expect a variety of free and paid cosmetic items to arrive in October. These additions are designed to complement the existing gameplay, which supports one to four players across more than 30 current levels.
Since its Early Access debut in 2022, Escape the Backrooms has reached over 12 million players. The title is currently available on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2, continuing its presence in the horror genre alongside broader media projects like the A24 film adaptation.
