At OSAKA INDIE GAMES SUMMIT 2026, held on October 3 and 4, 2026, solo developer Fortgs showcased BE Ninja, a title where players use their bare hands in front of a webcam to perform ninjutsu.
The game relies entirely on a webcam sitting atop the monitor to capture player hands every frame, utilizing AI to recognize seals without any controllers or keyboards.
The author noted that while the current AI dataset remains small, exhibition playtests help train the recognition system. The writer also observed that repeating training rounds makes hand movements faster and completely natural.
Fortgs stated the project was inspired by classic ninja manga. The early access version is available on Steam for 300 yen, and a free demo featuring the event version will launch on Steam later.
