Bandai Namco Entertainment announced on October 13 via Steam News that the port of Ace Combat Zero, provided as a pre-order bonus for Ace Combat 8: Wings of theve, will be distributed as a standalone application on Steam.
Previously, players could only access the port by launching the main Ace Combat 8 game. This update will allow users to play the title independently, though the company clarified that this change does not grant new access to the bonus for those who do not already own it.
The developer is currently conducting final quality and performance checks. Additionally, Steam Cloud support is planned to enable save data synchronization between the original integrated version and the new standalone application. Further details regarding the release schedule will be provided once final verification is complete.
Bandai Namco reaffirmed during the ACE COMBAT 8 Information Bureau #5 broadcast that there are no plans to sell the Ace Combat Zero port as a standalone product. Ace Combat 8, which launched on October 2 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, reached 1 million units in global sales by October 9.
