Publisher Toplitz Productions released the launch trailer for the upcoming open-world survival game Permafrost on October 5, 2026, ahead of its planned early access launch on October 9.
Set in a frozen, post-civilization world covered in snow and ice, the game supports cooperative survival for up to four players. Players step into the role of Luke, an engineer skilled in reconstruction, who must maintain body temperature, gather resources, and repair abandoned shelters in environments where temperatures plunge to minus several tens of degrees. Additionally, players will confront dangerous wildlife and deranged fellow survivors.
The developers emphasize that the title avoids constant gunfights and fantasy elements, relying instead on silence and scarcity to deliver a tense, realistic survival experience. The newly published launch trailer showcases exploration across snow and ice-covered nature and urban areas, alongside sequences of trading with NPCs and building bases cooperatively. A previously released story trailer is also available to introduce the game's setting.
