Square Enix announced today that the smartphone and PC RPG Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis has officially terminated its service on the 7th, releasing a final video to thank players for their ongoing support.
The title allowed users to experience episodic narratives spanning from the original game to Crisis Core. Furthermore, participants could combine characters from different entries freely into a single party to tackle stages.
The mobile version launched in Japan in September 2023, followed by a Steam release in December 2023. Ultimately, developers concluded in July that maintaining satisfactory service levels would prove difficult moving forward.
Alongside the shutdown, the team expressed sincere apologies and deep gratitude toward everyone who engaged with the project throughout its three-year operational run.
