LINE Yahoo has announced a collaboration with The Pokémon Company to restrict specific trading card listings on Yahoo! Flea Market and Yahoo! Auctions. These measures, effective October 13, aim to improve the safety and reliability of the secondary market for collectors and players.
The new policy prohibits the sale of Pokémon cards in carton quantities, as well as the listing of empty boxes and empty packs. Furthermore, the platform will restrict the bulk listing of identical items for a set period following a product's official release date.
The ban on empty boxes and empty packs extends beyond the Pokémon brand, applying to all trading card products across both platforms starting on the same date. This broader scope is intended to curb potentially deceptive or problematic secondary market activities.
The Pokémon Company will continue sharing product release details and intellectual property infringement data with LINE Yahoo. Additionally, the company plans to provide information regarding items or distribution methods that could lead to inappropriate transactions, ensuring a more secure environment for future trading.
