Players encountering The Emissary quest in Valor Mortis will find it shortly after crossing the bridge in the Valley of Ashes and entering the army camp. The objective involves locating an emissary seal from Bonaparte within an abandoned carriage, though progress is blocked by hazardous poison clouds.
To bypass the toxic environment, players must utilize the Shield Transmutation ability. This specific skill is the final transmutation unlockable in the game and is obtained during a visit to the university.
Significant progression is required to finish this task, as the Valley of Ashes serves as the second area, while the university is located in the ninth area. Consequently, players cannot complete this quest until much later in their playthrough.
Upon acquiring the ability, players can traverse the poison to reach the camp and interact with an unusual corpse, triggering a miniboss encounter. Defeating this foe allows access to a chest containing the Perfect Copy amber, an item that boosts the ranks of equipped Tier 1 and Tier 2 ambers.
