Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the final installment in the remake trilogy, aims to surpass the graphical quality seen in the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Director Naoki Hamaguchi stated that the team is actively pushing the hardware limits of the platform to achieve this visual improvement.

According to Hamaguchi, the development team is building the title simultaneously across all platforms. By leveraging the experience gained from the Rebirth conversion, the developers intend to ensure that the multiplatform nature of the project does not restrict the overall presentation or quality of the game.

The game is scheduled for release on April 8, 2027, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Square Enix describes the title as a massive action RPG experience that will require over 100 hours of gameplay to complete in its entirety.
