Activision's official Call of Duty account released a new 30-second trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 titled 'Sacrifice' on its official YouTube channel on the 2nd. The video depicts North Korean forces as a primary hostile region and features the North Korean revolutionary opera song 'Where Are You, Dear General?', which is also well-known in the West.
The new video begins by alternating between propaganda-style poster artwork, words, and imagery reflecting North Korean society. It further increases worldbuilding immersion by incorporating footage surveying North Korean upper-class society alongside edits from the story trailer revealed last September, while emphasizing an eerie atmosphere with a child's countdown audible near the end.
Additionally, a video explaining a new system to help defend against wallhacks was released on the 3rd. Alongside the Modern Warfare 4 update, the existing server data processing method will be altered so that data regarding enemies behind walls will no longer be sent to the server, thereby blocking the system that detects wallhacks and greatly reducing their usage frequency in future gameplay.
