Embark Studios has launched a beta test for a PvE toggle in Arc Raiders, allowing users to explore the game without PvP skirmishes. This trial period is scheduled to run until October 20, with the developer utilizing community feedback and gameplay data to determine if the feature will become a permanent addition.
Despite the removal of hostile player encounters, some users are repurposing the mode for combat practice. According to player 'SixthSacrifice', the reduced pressure environment is being used to simulate PvP scenarios, highlighting a potential need for a dedicated social hub within the game.
Other players are exploiting the mode to target those carrying keys for valuable loot rooms. YouTuber 'itsDkal' criticized this behavior, describing players waiting outside these locations like vultures, which creates unintended social tension in a mode designed to minimize it.
Beyond the PvE toggle, Update 2.1 introduces several technical refinements. Embark Studios has implemented collision improvements, enhanced Grappling Hook traversal, and reduced the volume of outdoor footsteps. The update also addresses various performance issues and bugs affecting weapons and skills.
