Tokyo-based independent developer Code and DESIGN released the idle team RPG Meow Dungeon on the Mac App Store on October 11, 2026. The title features a retro four-color pixel art aesthetic and is distributed as a premium purchase without advertisements or in-app transactions.
Players assemble a team of three cats, customizing their roles through 18 skills, five move slots, and eight equipment slots. Combat is fully automated, allowing players to adjust game speed up to 4x, though boss encounters are capped at 2x speed. The game includes 14 cat breeds and 32 patterns, with progression systems involving skill leveling, equipment upgrades, and the collection of 22 regional treasures.
The adventure continues while the application is closed, with offline rewards accumulating for up to 10 hours, a limit that can be extended via facility upgrades. Additional mechanics include sending inactive cats on expeditions, managing a cat inn, and engaging in team battles with up to nine cats divided into three squads. Post-game content features reincarnation for cats reaching level 100, 36 talents, and 64 achievements.
The interface supports dynamic layout switching between horizontal and vertical orientations. Save data is stored locally on the device, requiring no account registration.
