While Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have remained evasive regarding a PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI, recent reports indicate the port may arrive shortly after the console launch. GamesBeat claims that the PC edition is currently scheduled for release within the first three months of 2027.
This information reportedly stems from four anonymous industry sources familiar with Rockstar Games' internal projects. When approached by GamesBeat for comment prior to the publication of these claims, a representative for the developer declined to provide a statement.
If the 2027 window holds, PC users would face a significantly shorter wait than historical precedents. Grand Theft Auto V, for instance, launched on PC approximately one year and seven months after its initial September 2013 console debut. The upcoming console version for PS5 and Xbox Series is slated for November 19, 2026.
The PC platform remains vital due to its active modding community, particularly regarding GTA Online and the roleplay phenomenon facilitated by FiveM. Rockstar Games previously acquired the Cfx.re team in August 2023. It remains unclear if the potential PC launch will coincide with new details regarding the future of GTA Online.
