Konami Digital Entertainment has launched Castlevania: Belmont's Curse on October 15 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The Standard Edition is priced at 3,850 yen, while the Midnight Edition costs 4,950 yen and includes digital sound and art galleries alongside three in-game items.
Set in 1499 Paris, 23 years after the events of Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, the story follows Rose Belmont, daughter of Trevor Belmont. Players utilize the Vampire Killer whip and various skills to explore the city and defeat monsters. The game introduces a system where defeated bosses are sealed into tarot cards, granting players Arcana powers, spells, and special actions.
Customization is a core component, featuring seven weapon categories and magical devices that allow players to tailor their combat style. The game combines traditional gothic aesthetics with vibrant, modern graphics. While the title emphasizes speed and freedom in exploration, it also maintains series traditions, including encounters with classic bosses like Death and Medusa, as well as new adversaries like Joan of Arc.
A demo version is currently available, allowing players to experience the early stages of the game with save data that carries over to the full release. The Midnight Edition includes exclusive digital content and specific in-game items such as the Trevor and Sypha style costumes, plus the Family Portrait magical device.
