Castlevania: Belmont's Curse is scheduled for official release on October 15 across PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and Nintendo Switch. The 2D action adventure title is set 23 years after the events of Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse, marking the first entry to continue the classic timeline in 18 years since the 2008 release of Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia.
The narrative takes place in 1499 in Paris, France, where monsters have besieged the city. Players control a new protagonist named Rose Belmont, the daughter of legendary hero Trevor Belmont. Rose bears a curse on her right arm left by Dracula, which previously claimed the life of her mother, Sypha Belnades, shortly after Rose's birth. Following a call for help from Paris, Trevor and Rose arrive via the Seine to combat the emerging forces of darkness.
The game features fast-paced, fluid whip action that allows players to traverse stages dynamically. Alongside the whip, users can utilize seven different equipment types and magical tools to customize their combat style. Defeating bosses unlocks the Arcana system, which seals enemy souls into tarot cards to grant powerful spells and special actions.
Maintaining traditional gothic aesthetics with refined graphics, the game pits players against various foes. Bosses include the mysterious monster The Fallen, Joan of Arc, Medusa, Isaac, Carmilla, and Dracula's minion Death.
