Hello Games has announced that its long-running sci-fi exploration title, No Man’s Sky, is expanding to mobile devices. The game is scheduled to launch on both iPhone and iPad on October 28th.
According to Sean Murray, this mobile release is the full experience rather than a stripped-down version. It incorporates all updates released since the game's debut, including the Voyagers expansion. However, the mobile iteration will exclude multiplayer functionality and planetary settlements.
The game features newly designed touch controls, though it also supports controllers, mouse-and-keyboard, and screen casting on iPad. Hello Games emphasized that significant effort was directed toward battery life and thermodynamics to facilitate long play sessions. The download size is approximately 5GB.
The title will be playable on iPhone 11 and 3rd generation iPad Air models or newer. While the game will be free to try at launch, the pricing for the full version remains unspecified. Hello Games intends to support the iOS platform based on player feedback and engagement numbers.
