Developer Ember Lab has announced that Kena: Scars of Kosmora will now launch in 2027. The team requires additional time to deliver an expanded and superior experience that exceeds the quality and scope of their 2021 debut game, Bridge of Spirits. The title will be released in both physical and digital formats for PS5 and PC.
Similar to the first installment, Scars of Kosmora is a character-driven linear adventure, but it features a larger and more complex world with plenty of content for players who venture off the main path. Kena navigates the world on foot and utilizes various movement methods, including her crystal dog companion. This ancient spirit serves as a mount, assists in mounted and foot combat, and helps solve alchemical puzzles.
The story follows Kena as she reflects on her training as a spirit guide and healer. Prompted by her childhood friend Orfio, Kena seeks answers on the mysterious island of Kosmora regarding her past and future. The island features complex spirit guide dungeons that test player abilities with elemental and alchemical temples, alongside living cultures that present new conflicts and personalities for Kena to navigate.
