To celebrate the 23rd anniversary of Lineage 2, NCSoft released a new Lo-Fi remix album titled The Playlist on October 12. This collection aims to allow players to enjoy the game's iconic music within their daily lives outside of the virtual environment.
The album features nine tracks from the original soundtrack, including popular pieces such as Dawn of Crossroads, Shepherd's Flute, and Unicorn's Rest. The title track, Dawn of Crossroads, reimagines the original harp and woodwind arrangement into a Lo-Fi jazz style while maintaining the core melody and emotional resonance of the source material.
Production was handled by NCSOUND, which arranged compositions originally created by Bill Brown, Jamie Christopherson, and Inon Zur. The team integrated Lo-Fi jazz elements and diverse soundscapes to preserve the distinct musical characteristics of each original track while providing a fresh listening experience.
The Playlist is currently available for streaming across various domestic and international platforms, including Melon, Genie, Spotify, YouTube Music, and the official NCSOUND YouTube channel.
