Developer Ember Lab has announced that Kena: Scars of Kosmora is now scheduled to be released in 2027. The studio is taking additional time to develop and polish the experience, ensuring it surpasses the scale and quality of their 2021 title, Bridge of Spirits.
The game will maintain a linear, character-focused adventure format on a much larger and deeper scale than its predecessor. In the narrative, Kena travels to the mysterious island of Kosmora alongside her childhood friend Orfio to uncover answers about her past and her future as a spirit guide, while confronting her own unresolved suffering.
Kosmora features complex spirit guide temples and dungeons that test player skills and offer transformative rewards. Kena will navigate this vast world alongside a new crystalline canine spirit companion, which serves as a mount for travel, an ally in combat, and a helper in solving alchemical puzzles.
Kena: Scars of Kosmora is slated for a physical and digital release on PS5, as well as a digital release on PC, in 2027.
