Key information
Warframe’s 66th character, Naryn, launched on September 23 alongside update 44. Inspired by traditional Korean dance and swordplay, this cold-specialized dealer features a design blending science fiction with cultural aesthetics. The update also includes a significant rework for Banshee, marking her first major update in 13 years.
Naryn utilizes a unique 'Ice' gauge mechanic, which players charge by landing abilities to control the battlefield. Her passive, 'Sang-godae,' grants bonus cold damage when enemies affected by cold status are defeated. Key abilities include 'Natae,' a dashing ice rapier strike, and 'Naraemagi,' which absorbs cold status from nearby enemies to restore shields or grant overguard.
The ultimate ability, 'Nurinarim,' allows Naryn to perform a trance-like sword dance, firing ice projectiles that shred enemy armor. While initially criticized for poor target visibility, developers updated the ability to allow firing without a lock-on, while rewarding locked-on targets with increased damage and no gauge consumption. Players must balance gauge depletion by actively using abilities.
Banshee’s rework enhances her utility, with her first ability now providing armor reduction and crowd control. Her second ability allows movement while active, and her fourth, 'Sound Quake,' now functions as a 25-second area-of-effect skill applying blast status. These changes, alongside Naryn’s release, offer players new tactical options for both high-level missions and early-game progression.
