Nexon is bringing the Solo Leveling collaboration to Overwatch in the Season 5 update titled 'God of Darkness'. The update is scheduled to go live on the 7th. Following a previous official survey that included Solo Leveling as a desired collaboration IP, the crossover has now been officially revealed.
The collaboration features character skins matching heroes with Solo Leveling figures. Sung Jinwoo appears as Genji, Ignit as Reaper, Iron as Reinhardt, Cha Haein as Anran, and Choi Jongin as Lifeweaver. The Sung Jinwoo skin notably includes a dedicated voice line saying "Arise".
Season 5 also introduces the new hero Doctrin, who officially debuts following a surprise preview event at Blizzcon where players evaluated the character as overpowered. A limited-time event mode called 'Mystery Madness' will be held, granting players random powers upon death in a system adapted from the stadium mode.
Additionally, Sombra and Roadhog receive rework updates. Sombra shifts position to a healer as previously previewed, while Roadhog gains a new skill called 'Trash Compactor', though users previously criticized its performance during PBE testing. Furthermore, new Mythic skins arrive, with 'Wooyang' receiving the character skin and 'Lucio' receiving the weapon skin.
