Key information

Krafton has initiated a collaborative research project with the Seoul National University Graduate School's Artificial Intelligence program. The partnership focuses on developing world models that bridge the gap between gaming and robotics.

The research, scheduled to span three years, involves three specific academic projects and the operation of a joint research center. World models enable AI to comprehend current environments and simulate future changes based on specific actions, aiming for predictive technology applicable to both virtual game spaces and physical robotic environments.

Key technical objectives include maintaining spatial consistency in long-form video generation, natural movement integration using game data, and verifying AI spatial awareness. The team will also establish benchmarks to evaluate these research outcomes.

This initiative builds upon a November agreement. Krafton intends to leverage this collaboration to expand its AI expertise, including physical AI development, while fostering talent through internships and research exchanges. The company previously established Ludo Robotics in the United States and Korea.
