Key information

Capcom is set to deepen the narrative surrounding Umbrella co-founder Oswell E. Spencer in upcoming downloadable content for Resident Evil Requiem. This expansion aims to provide players with a more comprehensive understanding of the series' primary antagonist.

Writer Harris Okin discussed the project in an interview conducted at Medoraq Comic-Con this past July, which was released by the YouTube channel Distance NERDing on the 6th. Okin noted that while the base game already explores Spencer's motivations and regrets, the DLC will further elaborate on his character arc.

Development of the additional story content was first confirmed in March via an official video message from director Koushi Nakanishi. While the initial announcement focused on expanding the world of Requiem, it lacked specific details regarding character-focused plot points.

Okin confirmed he is currently writing the DLC. While a specific release date remains unannounced, the project is currently projected to launch in 2027.
