Arc System Works announced the first year of additional characters for the fighting game Marvel Fighting Souls during EVO France 2026 on October 11, 2026. The developer showcased a new video featuring illustrations by Japanese artist Peach Momoko to detail the upcoming roster additions and release schedule.
The upcoming lineup includes Jane Foster as Thor, Venom, and Jubilee, all scheduled for release throughout 2027. Venom will arrive in the spring of 2027 alongside a new combat stage called Klyntar. Jubilee, an X-Men member known for energy-based attacks, is slated for a summer 2027 debut, while Jane Foster's Thor is expected to join the roster in the winter of 2027.
Before these additions, Phoenix Cyclops will be released on November 2. This version of the character utilizes the Phoenix Force to combine optical blasts with fire-based attacks. Players can accumulate four Solar Shards to transform into Dark Phoenix, which grants increased combat power at the cost of reduced health. The release will also include classic and legacy costumes, with the developer aiming to differentiate this character's appearance and mechanics from previous iterations.
While the roadmap for the first year of DLC is now public, specific combat techniques and exact release dates for the 2027 characters remain unannounced. The developer continues to expand the game's roster and environments, building upon the existing selection of fighters.
