Key information

Kotaro Uchikoshi, known for directing the Zero Escape trilogy and co-creating The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, has announced the sudden cancellation of his new studio's debut project. This unexpected development has left the future of his recently established company, Crash Keys, in significant jeopardy.

Crash Keys officially opened in March 2025, with Uchikoshi originally intending to unveil the studio and its first title next year. However, the cancellation of a project that the team had dedicated approximately a year and a half to has forced an early public disclosure regarding the studio's precarious financial situation.

Uchikoshi is now actively soliciting potential partners and investors to prevent the studio from failing. He noted that without immediate support, the company faces a high risk of collapse, humorously remarking that his team might otherwise be forced to survive on limited resources.

The studio currently consists of a small team, including writers Akira Mine and Muri Sasaki, both of whom have previous experience with Uchikoshi's past projects. While Uchikoshi previously co-founded TooKyo Games alongside Kazutaka Kodaka, his current status with that organization remains unclear following the launch of Crash Keys.
