Key information
XREAL, Google, and Qualcomm have collaborated to develop the XREAL AURA, a pair of lightweight optical see-through glasses paired with a tethered compute puck running Android XR. According to co-founder and CEO Chi Xu, the hardware is designed to offer a wearable and open spatial computing platform for gamers, developers, and other users.
The device features a 70-degree field of view, precise hand tracking, and Sound by Bose. Its split-compute architecture keeps the glasses weighing less than 95 grams, while the tethered puck handles processing and doubles as a trackpad for navigation.
Eligible customers who previously placed a reservation can pre-order the hardware. The device comes in two variants: a 12GB RAM with 256GB storage model priced at $1,279, and a 16GB RAM with 512GB storage configuration costing $1,499.
Initial shipments are slated for the United States, Canada, Japan, and South Korea, with additional regions scheduled to follow in 2027. Due to high demand, pre-orders are currently restricted to users who made reservation deposits before October 7.
