Key information
Xbox is establishing a dedicated division titled XP to manage its film, television, consumer products, and live experience initiatives. The name serves as a reference to experience points commonly found in gaming.
Kayleen Walters, who currently serves as president of the Minecraft studio Mojang and executive producer for A Minecraft Movie, has been appointed as the president of this new organization.
Walters will oversee efforts to expand major franchises such as Call of Duty, Halo, Fallout, and Diablo. According to chief strategy officer Matthew Ball, the division aims to unify existing capabilities to help these properties reach broader audiences and foster deeper player connections.
The division will operate across four primary sectors: Xbox Pictures for linear storytelling, Xbox Products for merchandise, Xbox Places for live events and attractions, and Xbox Partnerships for brand collaborations.
