Key information

Microsoft has shared new information regarding its upcoming tenth-generation hardware strategy, following its initial announcement last August about developing a diverse family of devices alongside Xbox Helix.

According to Asha Sharma during an internal talk covered by Windows Central, Xbox will partner with external brands to manufacture portable consoles for out-of-home gaming, leveraging outside partners for areas where others excel while focusing on producing their own major console.

Unlike previous collaborations like the ROG Xbox Ally, which functioned as console-like PCs unable to natively run Xbox games, next-generation portable devices are intended to run tenth-generation games natively with official backing.

Sharma also discussed the brand's business performance during the same talk, stating that Xbox has successfully halted a previous freefall and is observing positive indicators driven by promising starts for titles such as Gears of War: E-Day, World of Warcraft, and Minecraft Dungeons 2.
