Microsoft has reportedly restated its intention to release multiple next-generation Xbox consoles, pointing toward a family of devices for the tenth console generation. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma reportedly mentioned this strategy during an internal company town hall meeting.

Sharma explained that while a powerful main console will arrive first, Microsoft recognizes that numerous players prefer gaming while traveling. She mentioned manufacturing strengths alongside hardware partnerships, noting that the operating system development is progressing well.

Codenamed Project Helix, the upcoming hardware family has previously been described by Sharma as capable of running both Xbox and PC titles while delivering top performance. Microsoft previously employed a multi-device approach this generation through the Xbox Series X and Series S models.

Industry challenges remain regarding an ongoing AI-driven memory component shortage that has elevated hardware costs. To address affordability concerns, Sharma stated that Microsoft is exploring radically different business models for future releases.
