Key information
Xbox has reportedly secured an exclusive agreement for the cloud streaming rights of Grand Theft Auto 6, which would make Xbox Cloud Gaming the sole cloud service to feature the Rockstar title at launch.
The details were reported by Tom Warren of The Verge following an internal Xbox meeting where Asha Sharma discussed the brand's future and mentioned a deal prepared for GTA 6 that no other platform is undertaking.
Because the title will not receive a dedicated PC version upon release, the Xbox cloud platform could serve as the exclusive method for playing the game on computer hardware on day one, though the duration of the agreement remains unknown.
While previous rumors and behind-the-scenes reports mostly connected Grand Theft Auto 6 to PlayStation regarding hardware performance and special controllers, this marks the first major news linking Xbox to Rockstar's upcoming game.
An official announcement from Microsoft or Rockstar is still pending to confirm the partnership and clarify the full operational details of the streaming service.
