Key information
Blizzard is preparing to launch World of Warcraft Forever early next month, positioning the title as the franchise's most accessible entry point. Developers emphasize that the game is designed to encourage players to create multiple alternate characters, supported by a commitment to regularly introduce new leveling zones and dungeons.
The development team intends to preserve the original class design, explicitly stating they do not wish to modernize these mechanics. While the studio is considering the implementation of an account-wide bank in the future, they currently have no plans to incorporate additional races from the retail version of the game.
Regarding gameplay systems, Blizzard confirmed that summoning stones will not be added to facilitate dungeon travel, as developers believe such features diminish the world's scale and specific class identities. Furthermore, the team has not yet decided on the potential introduction of tanking Shamans.
For the initial years of operation, content will remain restricted to Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. Lead developers aim to maintain small power gaps between endgame vertical progression tiers to ensure older gear remains relevant, while prioritizing horizontal progression through systems like professions, collections, and transmog.
