Key information
TP-Link hosted a global online presentation on October 1 to officially announce its first Wi-Fi 8 router, the Archer 8 Ultra, opening pre-orders in markets including the UK, Germany, and Australia. The device represents a shift toward stability in real-world use conditions through the Wi-Fi 8 StabilityEngine core technology.
The router is powered by Broadcom's new Wi-Fi 8 chipset using the IEEE 802.11bn standard and delivers up to 19 Gbps of tri-band Wi-Fi 8 connectivity. It is equipped with two 10 Gbps auto-sensing WAN/LAN ports and four 2.5 Gbps LAN ports, alongside 18 high-performance antennas capable of covering up to 3,600 square feet and supporting up to 200 simultaneous devices.
The Archer 8 Ultra addresses traditional home network bottlenecks via technologies such as MCS, UEQM, 2×LDPC, DSO, and NPCA. Furthermore, the TP-Link Tether App features the Aireal AI Assistant, offering automated management tools such as Wi-Fi Optimizer, Self-Healing, QoS, and ECO mode.
While pre-orders for the Archer 8 Ultra began on September 30 in select overseas regions, TP-Link also previewed the Deco 8 Ultra mesh system, which debuted at the 2026 IFA exhibition and received an IFA Innovation Award.
