Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer recently confirmed that the Xbox Series S hardware constraints are currently preventing the implementation of dynamic weather in Wardogs. While the team aspires to include such features, performance concerns on the console mean that upcoming rain effects will remain persistent throughout matches rather than shifting dynamically.

The developer noted that Microsoft mandates feature parity across its current console generation, forcing studios to account for the lower-end specifications of the Series S. This requirement has historically impacted other titles, such as Baldur's Gate 3 and No Rest for the Wicked, which faced development delays or technical hurdles to meet these standards.

Despite these challenges, studio co-founder Howard Philpott highlighted that optimizing for the Series S provides a useful baseline for lower-spec PC performance. This focus aligns with the developer's goal of ensuring the game remains accessible to a wide audience, though Philpott acknowledged the financial incentives behind reaching a broader player base.

Looking toward the 2028 console release, Bulkhead is now prioritizing forward-thinking development to avoid past issues with controller support. The team has engaged professional players to refine input systems, while Wardogs Season 2 is scheduled to launch on October 15.
