Bandai Namco Experience has announced plans to produce a new experiential activity facility named VS CHALLENGE KL Midtown, scheduled to open in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on November 5, 2026. This project marks the company's second overseas facility production, following the June 13, 2024, opening of VS CHALLENGE AEON Mall Deltamas in Indonesia.
The facility will feature 20 distinct activities carefully selected from over 100 options developed in Japan. These selections are tailored to meet local market needs and visitor characteristics in Malaysia, where there is a growing demand for accessible sports and physical activities, such as the increasingly popular pickleball.
While Bandai Namco Experience handles the planning and sales for the project, AEON Fantasy Malaysia will manage the facility's daily operations. This division of labor is part of the company's broader strategy to expand its international presence by partnering with local firms, contrasting with other Japanese operators like Taito, which utilizes a franchise model.
To further promote its facility production business, Bandai Namco Experience plans to exhibit at the IAAPA Expo 2026 in Orlando, Florida, in November 2026. The company intends to showcase its development capabilities and activities utilizing Bandai Namco Group intellectual properties to international markets.
