Cath Bowie, a 78-year-old creator from Inverurie, Scotland, has secured a world record as the oldest female Fortnite streamer in the world. She has streamed the Epic Games title since its launch in 2017.
Streaming daily on Twitch and YouTube under the name grumpygran1948, Bowie has built an audience of over 24,000 followers. She told the BBC she bought a console immediately after trying Fortnite in 2017, and started streaming after her grandson claimed no one would watch her.
Describing the game to the BBC, Bowie noted there is no blood in the title, and players either crawl or get eliminated. She enjoys meeting great people from the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia.
Bowie will be featured in the 2027 edition of the Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition. Another player from the United Kingdom recently earned a record for the largest Tomb Raider game collection.
