Key information
Valor Mortis is scheduled to release on October 13 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. The title is a first-person soulslike experience set within Napoleon's army, where players control William, a soldier resurrected during a plague that turns his comrades into monsters.
Gameplay involves searching for items known as Catalysts and Ambers to unlock new skills and modify character statistics. Polygon estimates the campaign will require approximately 20 hours to complete.
Publisher Lyrical Games has set the retail price at $39.99. Polygon notes this pricing strategy aims to remain competitive against other titles launching during the same season.
Subscription availability varies by platform. Xbox Game Pass subscribers receive full access on launch day. Conversely, PlayStation Plus members are limited to a 90-minute trial, though progress carries over if the full game is purchased.
