A German VALORANT player was reportedly blocked by Riot Games after installing a used Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor. According to Kotaku and a Reddit post, the component had allegedly been flagged by Vanguard due to the previous owner's cheating. Riot has not independently confirmed the claim in the available reporting.

The player purchased the used CPU on the German marketplace Kleinanzeigen in late September. VALORANT functioned with the old processor, but kicked the user immediately after the Ryzen 7 5800X3D was installed. Contacting Riot support reportedly revealed that the component serial number was blacklisted in Vanguard on August 12 because of prior cheating by the former owner.

Riot reportedly stated that swapping the graphics card would not fix the issue because other components were affected. PCWorld noted that such occurrences are rare, though hardware-based enforcement creates complications when flagged parts are resold. Buyers currently have no way to check if used components carry anti-cheat flags prior to purchase.

The Reddit account provides no guaranteed remedy or pre-purchase screening method. This player-reported incident highlights how hardware-linked bans can impact secondhand buyers uninvolved in original misconduct, emphasizing the need for clear support channels and consistent suspension standards in competitive gaming.
