Key information
Marc Guggenheim recently shared concept art for a cancelled Green Lantern series that was intended to be part of the Arrowverse. This project, which began development early this decade, was envisioned as an action-packed space adventure.
The series was planned for HBO with an eight-episode order. It would have featured Guy Gardner as the lead, portrayed by Finn Wittrock, and aimed to connect directly with the Arrow and Flash television series.
Critics note that the project faced skepticism regarding its potential quality. Guggenheim, who wrote the 2011 Green Lantern film, was attached alongside director Seth Grahame-Smith, known for films like Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
The development of this space-focused series ended following the arrival of James Gunn at DC Studios. Gunn ultimately discarded the concept in favor of the current Lanterns production, which has received mixed reactions from fans regarding its lack of traditional cosmic elements.
