Key information
An independent developer known as aicodewithme showcased a browser-playable project heavily inspired by Rockstar Games, as reported by GameStar. Titled Taipei GTA, the game allows users to freely explore a rendition of Taipei and complete 93 missions. Instead of traditional development methods, the creator stated they spent over 10000 dollars in tokens, relying on intelligence tools to handle heavy workloads.
In an interview with Mirror TV, aicodewithme shared that the project took about a month of work outside regular job hours, dedicating five to six hours daily. Supported by an army of 200 intelligence systems, the creator acted as a mediator when outputs from the different tools contradicted each other.
Testing by the Taiwanese portal 4Gamers revealed noticeable technical issues. The sound design featured obvious crackling, high graphic settings led to unusually long loading times, and street layouts differed from reality despite using real names, likely stemming from heavy intelligence usage.
The main character moves to Taipei and resists urban renewal on their grandmother's old street, which can trigger police pursuits. The creator did not clarify which specific intelligence handled each part or provide a cost breakdown, noting a desire to bring Taiwan closer to people.
