Key information
Ubisoft is currently working on a remake of the first Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell game, though the project remains an absolute mystery after years of silence. Developed originally by Ubisoft Montreal in 2002, the stealth classic became a major critical success for the studio and launched a powerful franchise.
The inaugural 2002 title starred Sam Fisher, a retired Navy SEAL recruited by a secret division called Third Echelon following the assassination of the president of Georgia. Voiced originally by Michael Ironside, Fisher navigated a sophisticated political thriller spanning multiple international locations.
The series evolved significantly over time, transitioning from a more tactical experience in early entries like Chaos Theory to action-oriented gameplay in its final two installments, Conviction and Blacklist. Today, fans can access the original classic through digital storefronts like Steam or GOG, or via backward compatibility on Xbox Series.
