Key information

Positive Impact Games and ByteRockers' Games launched a demo for their upcoming PC title, The Regreening, on Steam. The store page confirms that the demo includes Japanese language support.

The Regreening is a simulation game focused on restoring ecosystems to barren landscapes. Developers describe the concept as soilpunk, where the core progression involves the active recovery of nature.

Players must discover new seeds and manage plant compatibility to expand vegetation, eventually creating habitats for returning wildlife. As greenery spreads, the landscape transforms, triggering changes throughout the ecosystem.

Exploration allows players to collect scrap for upcycling into home decorations or irrigation tools. Additionally, players can assist nature spirits inspired by Baltic folklore to gain new abilities.

The demo will be featured in the upcoming Steam Next Fest. Previous development milestones include four playtests with over 7,300 participants and significant interest reflected in Steam wishlist counts.
